Etsy Tools for Sellers in 2026: What Each Type Does (SEO, Photos, Orders, Busywork)
Most lists of Etsy tools are thirty keyword apps in a row. Here they are sorted by the job they do, with real prices, the free tools Etsy already gives you, and the busywork category the lists leave out.

The best Etsy tools depend on the job. For SEO, start with Etsy's free Marketplace Insights, then eRank (from $5.99 a month) or Marmalead ($19). For photos, Canva Pro (about $18). For shipping, Etsy's own labels. For daily busywork like order checks and price updates, an AI helper such as the Astarii Etsy Manager, from $29.99 a month, proposes every shop change for approval.
Search "Etsy tools for sellers" and you get lists of 17, 25 or 30 tools, most of them keyword research apps that do roughly the same thing. That's useful if your problem is search. It's no help if your problem is that Monday morning goes on copying orders into a spreadsheet, answering the same three questions and checking whether a rival dropped their prices again.
This guide sorts Etsy seller tools by the job they do: research and SEO, photos, pricing and bulk edits, orders and shipping, and the busywork in between that most lists skip. For each job you get what Etsy already gives you for free, what the paid tools cost in October 2026, and when you don't need one at all. Astarii makes one of the tools in the last group, the Etsy Manager; it gets the same treatment as everything else, including where it's the wrong pick.

The five jobs an Etsy tool can do
Before comparing brands, work out which job is actually costing you time or sales. A tool aimed at the wrong job is money spent every month on a dashboard you stop opening.
- Research and SEO. Which words buyers type, how many listings compete for them, what sells in your niche. This is where eRank, Marmalead, Alura and EverBee live.
- Photos and mockups. Clean product shots, lifestyle images, mockups for prints and digital goods. Canva and mockup generators, plus your phone and a window.
- Pricing and bulk edits. Changing prices, descriptions, tags or shipping profiles across many listings at once.
- Orders and shipping. Labels, packing slips, tracking, and selling on more than one channel.
- The busywork in between. Copying orders into a sheet, a morning check of what came in overnight, watching competitor prices, answering "what sold best last month?". This is browser and inbox work, not research, and it's where AI helpers fit.
Most new shops need the first and fourth. Most shops past a few hundred sales start losing hours to the fifth without noticing, because it never shows up as one big task.
Start with what Etsy already gives you
Etsy's own tools have improved, and several paid apps now overlap with them. Check these before paying for anything.
- Marketplace Insights. In Shop Manager, go to Stats, then Marketplace Insights. You search a keyword and see Etsy's own figures for it, such as recent search and listing counts. Every seller gets 15 free searches a week; Etsy Plus subscribers get unlimited searches. Because the data comes from Etsy itself, it's the best free check on whether a keyword is worth chasing.
- Shop Manager Stats. Views, visits, orders and the search terms that brought shoppers to your listings. Read it weekly before you buy a research tool; it often answers the question.
- Bulk editing. Tick listings in Shop Manager and use Editing options to change prices by an amount or percentage, add text to descriptions, or swap tags. Our guide to updating Etsy prices and descriptions without opening every listing walks through it.
- Shipping labels. Labels bought through Etsy can come with discounted USPS volume rates, with no membership fee beyond Etsy's normal fees. You can buy labels in bulk and print a SCAN form.
- Etsy Plus, $10 a month. Fifteen listing credits and $5 of Etsy Ads credit a month, extra shop customisation, restock requests and unlimited Marketplace Insights searches. It doesn't lower transaction fees or lift your search ranking.
For context on what a tool has to earn back: Etsy charges $0.20 per listing, a 6.5% transaction fee on the order total including shipping, and in the US about 3% plus $0.25 for payment processing. A $29.99 monthly tool has to save or earn more than that on a few orders a week before it's worth keeping.
Etsy tools by job, with prices
Prices below are monthly, in US dollars, checked on the vendors' pricing pages on 22 October 2026 unless noted. Annual plans are usually cheaper per month.
| Job | Tool | What it does well | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Research / SEO | Etsy Marketplace Insights | Etsy's own search data for a keyword | Free, 15 searches a week |
| Research / SEO | eRank | Keyword lookups, listing audits, competitor tracking | Free tier; Basic $5.99, Pro $9.99, Expert $29.99 |
| Research / SEO | Marmalead | Keyword research with search and engagement data | $19 monthly, $16 billed yearly |
| Research / SEO | Alura | Keyword and product research, AI listing writer | Free tier; Growth $14.99 a month (billed yearly) |
| Product research | EverBee | Estimated sales and revenue of other shops' listings | Free tier; Growth $24.99 a month billed yearly |
| Photos / mockups | Canva Pro | Mockups, lifestyle images, shop banners, social posts | About $18 |
| Bulk edits | Etsy Editing options | The same change on many listings | Free |
| Bulk edits | Vela | Spreadsheet-style editing for large catalogues, CSVs | From about $29.95 (third-party listings) |
| Shipping | Etsy labels | Discounted USPS labels inside Shop Manager | Free to use, pay per label |
| Shipping | ShipStation | Labels and rules across several sales channels | Starter from $14.99 (50 shipments) |
| Busywork | Astarii Etsy Manager | Reads orders and listings, answers questions, proposes price and description changes for your approval | Astarii plans from $29.99 |
Third-party review sites disagree on several of these prices, and some tools change them a few times a year. Check the vendor's page on the day you sign up.
Research and SEO tools: pick one, not three
This is the most crowded category and the one where sellers overspend. eRank, Marmalead, Alura and EverBee overlap heavily. All four tell you roughly how popular a search term is and how many listings compete for it. Where they differ:
- eRank is the cheap, broad default. The free tier gives 5 keyword lookups and 5 listing audits a day, which is enough to learn on. Basic at $5.99 raises that to 100 lookups a day. If you only want one paid research tool, start here.
- Marmalead is a single plan at $19 a month and is built around keyword research for Etsy titles and tags. It suits sellers who want one focused screen rather than a big dashboard.
- Alura adds an AI listing writer and A/B tests on its paid plans. Useful if you write a lot of new listings; less useful if your catalogue is settled.
- EverBee is mostly product research: it estimates how much other listings sell, so you can test an idea before making stock. Its free Hobby tier allows a handful of searches.
A sensible order: use Marketplace Insights and your own Stats for a month, then add eRank's free tier, then pay for one tool only if you hit its limits. Paying for two research tools at once rarely tells you anything the first one didn't.
Photos and mockups
Keywords get a shopper to your listing; photos decide whether they click and buy. The best tool here is often free: daylight from a window, a plain background, and your phone. For printables, art prints and other digital goods, mockups do the heavy lifting.
Canva Pro, at about $18 a month for one person, covers mockups, banners, social posts and simple edits. Several research tools, Alura and eRank among them, have added AI helpers for writing listings; check what your research plan already includes before paying for a second AI writer. Whatever you use, buyers expect the photos to show the item they'll receive, so keep any AI-generated scene honest and close to the real product.
Pricing and bulk edits
When every listing gets the same change, such as prices up 6% or a new line at the end of every description, Etsy's free Editing options are enough. Paid bulk editors like Vela earn their fee in two cases: catalogues of many hundreds of listings, and sellers who like to plan changes in a spreadsheet and push them back as a CSV.
The gap neither covers well is a change that's different for each listing and depends on reading it first. "Raise small prints by $1 and large by $3, leave framed ones alone." "Fix every description that still mentions the old shipping time." That's a reading job as much as an editing job, and it's what the Etsy Manager is for, with one firm rule: every change to the live shop is proposed first and made only when you approve it.
Orders and shipping
If you only sell on Etsy, buying labels in Shop Manager is usually all you need. You get Etsy's USPS rates, the tracking number lands on the order automatically, and there's no extra subscription.
A shipping app like ShipStation makes sense once you sell on several channels and want one queue for all of them, with rules such as "orders under 8 oz go first class". Its Starter plan begins at $14.99 a month for 50 shipments, so check your monthly volume against its tiers before switching.
The missing category: the busywork in between
Here's the work that eats an hour a day in a growing shop and that no research tool touches:
- Checking overnight orders, noting anything personalised or rushed, and getting a short summary before you start.
- Copying each week's orders, fees and shipping into a Google Sheet for your bookkeeping.
- Answering questions about your own shop: which listings haven't sold in 90 days, what sold best last month, which items are under $15.
- Checking five competitor listings every Monday and noting price changes.
- Updating prices and descriptions when costs or policies change.
This is browser and inbox work. An AI helper such as an Astari does it the way you would: it opens the pages, reads them, updates the sheet and reports back. The ready-made Etsy Manager reads your orders and listings, answers questions about them and can update prices and descriptions, with every live change waiting for your approval. A general Astari handles the rest: copying rows into Google Sheets through a connection, checking public competitor listings, and emailing you a summary, on a schedule such as every weekday at 7:30. With task memory, a scheduled Astari doesn't add the same order to your sheet twice.

Two safety points matter for a shop. If Etsy texts a sign-in code, the run pauses and asks you for it, then carries on. Saved passwords are encrypted in your browser before they're stored and are never shown to the AI. Runs can happen in Astarii's cloud browser, so your laptop can be closed.
Where an AI helper is the wrong pick
- Keyword research. An Astari can read pages, but it doesn't have eRank's or Marketplace Insights' search-volume data. Use those for SEO.
- Photo editing and mockups. Use Canva or a mockup tool.
- Thousands of identical edits. Etsy's bulk editor or Vela is faster and cheaper for "the same change everywhere".
- Buying postage and multichannel shipping rules. Use Etsy labels or a shipping app.
- A shop with a few orders a week. If the busywork takes you ten minutes, do it yourself and spend the $29.99 on photos or ads.
A quick way to decide: our 30-minute audit of repetitive tasks shows how many minutes a week each job really takes, and which tool is the cheapest one that works.
A tool stack by shop size
You don't need a tool for every job on day one. Here's what a sensible stack looks like at three sizes, and roughly what it costs a month.

- Just starting (under 50 sales). Marketplace Insights, Shop Manager Stats, eRank's free tier, Etsy labels, phone photos and free Canva. Cost: $0 plus Etsy's fees.
- Growing (50 to 300 listings, a few orders a day). Add one paid research tool, such as eRank Basic at $5.99 or Marmalead at $19, and Canva Pro at about $18 if you make mockups. Roughly $25 to $40 a month.
- Busy (hundreds of listings, orders every day). Keep one research tool, add an AI helper for the daily order check, the weekly sheet and approved price changes (Astarii Pro is $29.99 a month), and a shipping app if you sell on other channels. Roughly $50 to $90 a month.
Revisit the stack every quarter. Cancel anything you haven't opened in a month; most Etsy tools are month to month.
What to skip
- A second research tool. They overlap. One is enough.
- Tools that promise to "rank you on page one". No outside tool controls Etsy search. Etsy Plus doesn't either.
- Anything that wants your Etsy password typed into a form. Prefer tools that connect through Etsy's own sign-in, or that keep passwords encrypted and away from the AI.
- Automation that changes your live shop without asking. A wrong price on 200 listings costs more than the time it saved.
Getting started
Pick the job that costs you the most time this month and fix that one first. If it's research, start with Marketplace Insights and eRank's free tier. If it's the daily busywork, try an Astari on one job, like a morning order summary: the free trial gives you 3 runs of up to 15 minutes with no card, and plans start at $29.99 a month on the pricing page. The Etsy Manager is in the ready-made list, and the guide to AI agents for small business has more jobs owners hand off first.
Say it to an Astari
These are instructions you can give an Astari, word for word. It does the work in a browser, on a schedule if you want one, and asks you before anything goes live.
Questions
What tools do Etsy sellers use?
Most use a keyword research tool such as eRank, Marmalead, Alura or EverBee, Canva for photos and mockups, Etsy's own shipping labels, and Shop Manager Stats. Growing shops add a bulk editor or an AI helper for daily order and listing work.
What is the best free Etsy SEO tool?
Etsy's own Marketplace Insights, under Stats in Shop Manager, gives 15 free keyword searches a week using Etsy's data. eRank's free tier adds 5 keyword lookups and 5 listing audits a day.
Is eRank or Marmalead better?
eRank is cheaper and broader, with a free tier and paid plans from $5.99 a month. Marmalead is one focused keyword plan at $19 a month. Try eRank's free tier first and pay for one tool only if you hit its limits.
Is Etsy Plus worth $10 a month?
It suits shops that list often and run Etsy Ads, since it includes 15 listing credits and $5 of ad credit a month plus unlimited Marketplace Insights searches. It does not lower fees or improve your search ranking.
Can AI manage my Etsy shop?
AI can handle the routine parts. The Astarii Etsy Manager reads orders and listings, answers questions about them and can update prices and descriptions, but every change to the live shop is proposed first and made only when you approve it.
Is it safe to give an Etsy tool access to my shop?
Prefer tools that connect through Etsy's own sign-in or keep passwords encrypted. With Astarii, saved passwords are encrypted in your browser before they are stored and are never shown to the AI, and sign-in codes pause the run until you supply them.
How much should a small Etsy shop spend on tools?
A new shop can run on free tools. A growing shop typically spends about $25 to $40 a month on one research tool and Canva Pro. Busy shops that add an AI helper and a shipping app spend roughly $50 to $90.
Do I need a separate shipping app for Etsy?
Not if you only sell on Etsy. Etsy's labels come with discounted USPS rates and add tracking to the order. A shipping app such as ShipStation, from $14.99 a month, helps once you sell on several channels.
