Windows. Download the installer, run it, and sign in. It updates itself after that.
What it can do that the others can't
A cloud or extension Astari lives inside a browser. A desktop Astari can also work with applications installed on your machine and with files in a folder you choose. Opening a spreadsheet, saving a report where you want it, using a program that has no website — only this one can.
It also drives your own installed Chrome or Edge, so websites see an ordinary browser on an ordinary connection.
What it is allowed to touch
- Files: only inside the workspace folder you nominate. Nothing outside it.
- Applications: only ones you have allowed.
Both are yours to set, and neither expands on its own.
Smart routing deliberately skips them. They are pinned to this machine because they may need applications only this machine has — moving one to the cloud would silently change what it can do.
It needs the computer on
Desktop runs happen here, so the machine must be awake and the app running. For work that should continue overnight, use a cloud Astari instead.
