Your AI subscription
Already paying for ChatGPT? Link it once and your Astaris think on your plan.
Every Astari needs a model to think with. Out of the box that is Astarii's, included in your plan. If you already pay for ChatGPT (Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise), you can link it under Settings → Your AI subscription and, from then on, every chat and every run on your account uses your plan's models instead.
What it changes, and what it does not
| The model | Paid for by your ChatGPT plan. Chats, cloud runs, browser-extension runs and desktop runs all use it once it is linked and switched on. |
| Cloud browser minutes | Still come from your Astarii plan. The browser, the residential connection and the captcha solving are ours whichever model is thinking. |
| Your ChatGPT limits | Apply. ChatGPT plans have a five-hour window and a weekly cap; the Settings card shows both as bars after the first call. A browser agent is chatty, so Plus runs out sooner than Pro. |
Linking it
The sign-in is OpenAI's own — the same one their Codex app uses. Astarii never sees your password.
- Press Link ChatGPT. Astarii asks OpenAI for a short code.
- Open the OpenAI page it points you to (signed in to the ChatGPT account whose plan you want to use), enter the code, and approve.
- The card switches to linked on its own. Press Test to watch your plan answer.
Some accounts have it switched off. In ChatGPT open Settings → Security and turn on Allow device code login, then try again. Or pick sign in through your browser instead: OpenAI's sign-in opens in a new tab, and after you approve, that tab lands on an address starting with http://localhost:1455/auth/callback that cannot load. That is expected — copy the whole address from the tab and paste it into the card.
The switches on the card
| Use my ChatGPT for the models | Turn it off to go back to Astarii's models without unlinking. Your sign-in is kept. |
| Model | Which model does the thinking. GPT-5.6 Terra is the balanced default; Luna is the fastest and lightest on your limits; Sol and GPT-6 Astra need a Pro, Business or Enterprise plan. Summaries always use the light model. |
| If my plan is limited, use Astarii's models | Off by default: when your plan says no, a run stops and tells you, and a chat shows the message, so nothing quietly spends elsewhere. Turn it on and a run carries on with Astarii's models instead. |
| Unlink | Astarii forgets the sign-in. Your ChatGPT account is not touched. |
Where the sign-in lives
OpenAI hands Astarii a token, not your password. It is stored encrypted on our server with a key that never leaves it, is renewed on its own, and is deleted the moment you unlink. A Firestore export never contains a usable credential.
The honest caveat
OpenAI has said publicly that using a ChatGPT plan inside other tools is fine for now, and they count that traffic. It is a permission they can withdraw, not a contract. If they do, the card will say so and your Astaris fall back to Astarii's models — nothing breaks, the model just changes.
Other subscriptions
Claude and Grok are built to slot in the same way and show as soon on the card. Anthropic currently bills third-party sign-ins as extra usage rather than against your plan, so Claude waits until that changes; Grok is next.
